Perspectives on the World Christian Movement
What is Perspectives?
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a biblical journey that will integrate the global heart of Christ with your daily life. It is a two-part course each consisting of 13 sessions, meeting once a week for 2.5 hours.
It focuses on four vital areas:
- Biblical: God's unchanging purpose for the nations
- Historical: the expansion of the Christian movement
- Cultural: the bridges and barriers to cross-cultural ministry
- Strategic: how to finish the Great Commission
Why do Perspectives?
The course develops a clearer perspective of God's unchanging purpose for the world. It confronts participants with the personal challenge of how they can contribute to fulfilling the great commission. It enables them to make informed decisions about their own participation with God in His plan, whether as:
- Someone who goes cross-culturally to communicate the Gospel ("Go-er")
- Someone who from the home base supports and provides resources for go-ers ("Active Sender")
- Someone who equips and motivates others towards greater invovement in missions ("Equipper")
- Someone who befriends internationals coming to this country, as students or visitors ("Welcomer")
The ongoing work of evangelizing the world, especially the unreached people groups where there are presently no churches or Christian witnesses, is a primary responsibility of Christians everywhere. There is no other course of which I know of that will inform, inspire and motivate Christians for world evangelisation! - Dr Billy Graham
Perspectives Standard (Part 1 of course) runs in the second half of the year, where as Perspectives Advanced (Part 2) runs in the first half of the year. Keep a lookout in the church announcements, or contact the Office for dates.
