Chapel

Located in the heart of the CBD, the Chapel is one of Victoria’s most notable heritage buildings. Enter the Chapel for your special event and be swept back 140 years to an era of charm and splendour. Built on 13th February 1863, the building is often seen as one of the choicest examples of ecclesiastical Gothic architecture in the city. Professor Kernot, a past professor of Architecture at University of Melbourne once said,”Though small, it is the most chaste and beautiful in Melbourne”. The building bears lovely examples of stained glass art. Behind the platform is an ornate rose window which is a joy to behold. Above the porch is a triple long window (multiple lancet windows) which reveals a depth and strength of colour and shines as brightly as the day it was first fitted.

Replete with early architectural flourishes and features, since removal of the pews, the Chapel is able to combine its historical elegance with modern functionality.
