Our name CrossCulture is trademarked as our logo, and reflects three key aspects about the church.
- We are a church whose culture is centred on the Person and work of Jesus Christ. We acknowledge to be conservative in our understanding of the gospel message, but are willing to be radical in how that conservative message is proclaimed.
- With our congregation representing some forty nationalities by birth, we represent a cross-cultural congregation.
- We seek to be actively engaged in cross-cultural ministry, as evidenced by our missionary endeavours and international student ministry.
Whether participating in a congregational or small group context, we expect people will Encounter God, Encounter Community. With such a culturally diverse mix of people we understand that people come looking for fellowship - authentic community with other people. Whilst we encourage people to be international in their outlook and association, we also accommodate people who prefer to meet with others of similar cultural background. As delightful as fellowship with others may be, yet it is clear that sustainable, meaningful community is found ultimately in relationship with God. And so by God’s grace we strive to create an environment in which people can respond to a personal encounter with God. Many people have expressed the wonder of a personal, growing relationship with God at CrossCulture, for which we praise Him.
Reproducing World Christians is our combined vision and mission statement. This simple statement captures two critical elements for us: the continuing process of discipling in the manner of 2 Timothy 2:2 those who are serious about their relationship with God; so that each person has an understanding of God’s heart for the world, and choosing to align their heart with His heart. You may be wondering what this requires of you, if this is to become reality for you. All we ask people who are serious about their God relationship is five things:
- regularly attend one church service each week,
- be an active participant in a small group,
- serve the church in one area, and
- ask God to give you both a prayer partner and
- an Operation Andrew friend.
